the sun has at last begun to shine, the snow drops are out and the daffodils are awakening so it must be spring, at last !!
What a cold long winter it’s been (not a bad thing), so cold it’s slowed the cider fermentation down and prolonged it by weeks, which I’m reliably told is a good thing for the overall flavour and taste so all is good in the cider house (my garage)
I should be blending it and pouring it into barrels during the next couple of weeks where it will sit and gently mature, ready for the summer. Some of it actually taste pretty good already so if anybody fancies a bottle to try, let me know and i’ll arrange for you to pop over.
With the Friends of Grimsbury farm we are working out dates for this years events (picking, pressing days ) so hopefully we should have some more news soon.
If anyone has any ideas for events or wants to be more involved by all means let me know.
